a random hello blog is up & running!

I've finally started my new blog for my new shop!
Head on over to

GPC Blog Revamp

We have finally revamped our blog!
We've added a navigation bar to the top of our page to make it easier for our readers to learn ABOUT US, become fans on FACEBOOK, visit our SHOPS, and CONTACT US. Thanks to Blogger's many templates, we've also changed our blog template.

Though we have been missing-in-action for quite some time, we are hoping to get back on track with our updates. I'm also working on setting up my  blog for my new a random hello Etsy shop.

Our next big event is a mass overnight babysitting gig for our church's adult choir retreat. We will be preparing activities for about 20 kids to keep them busy while their parents attend workshops and what not. I'll probably be focusing on playing my favorite Disney dvds while Jenn holds clay classes in the other room.
Must remember to pack my "Meet the Robinsons" dvd!

Also, Sora recently released a new line of clay charms!
They were released the opening night of her Senior Exhibition: It's A Trap. These are only a few of the many different designs. The rest can be found on our Facebook fan page... HERE!

GPC's 1st Anniversary!
Green Peas Creations' 1st Anniversary was just last month! Luckily it was during our spring break so we ended up celebrating at the Happiest Place on Earth, DISNEYLAND!
Can't believe it's already been a year!

Lastly, as Sora mentioned in the last post, she has begun holding clay classes! More details in the previous post!
I will be making a personal update post on my blog: love=music=life sometime this week...

Clay Classes!!!

Phew!!! It's been a while!!! Sorry XP But I have big news!!! I have started a clay class were I am teaching kindergarden and up how to create clay animals! One lesson is one hour+ and allows the painting of the previous animal and the creation of a new one. ($10 per student for about 1 1/2 hours!)

I started with one student who had met me at the Galleria Sale! And she happens to go to my church! The next week, she had some of her friends come along and so I taught 5 children.

I'm so excited!!! My Fridays are going to be lots of fun!!!

Fabric Kimono Bookmarks

These are bookmarks of Japanese women in Kimonos. Each has a unique hair style and most have a different combination of what fabric is which part of their clothes.

Mediums: fabric, popsicle sticks, circle mirrors, glue, black felt

Self Portrait

This painting is a self portrait. I have painted my family as they are in the Chinese animal Zodiac in our backyard. There is very fine detailing and texture on the grass while the figures are done with a blotting style but still less paint. Each figure also wears something that shows who that person is, in one simple motion. The wooden frame was painted with three different types of brown to cause an invisible space between the painting and the viewer.

Medium: oil on gesoed canvas
Size: 18 inches by 22 inches

Flowers

I love impressionistic style of painting and have painted flowers with a base with paynes grey.

Medium: Oil on watercolor paper
Size: 9 inches by 12 inches
